Abstract
The purpose of this presentation was to share the experience in Chile of the study “Impact of care integration strategies on the performance of health service network in different health systems in Latin America”(Equity LA II), a participatory action research project carried out from 2013 to 2019 in public care networks in the Metropolitan Region of Chile. The lesson learned in this study showed a conceptual model to understand and analyze the performance of the Integrated Health Services Networks by observing their results in terms of coordination and continuity of care. The design and working methods in Chile evidenced interesting results on the production of knowledge in this area and the possibilities of generating collaborative work processes in the network, with the design and implementation of bottom -up interventionsvirtual consultancies and inter-level visits- based on existing resources proved to be effective and sustainable over time. Experiences like this are fundamental in the context of the ongoing process of universalization of primary care, whose challenges requires reflection on ways to effectively integrate primary care into a network that recognizes its role and leadership as axis of the care model.
