Abstract

This joint webinar on heart failure (HF) was organized by the Chilean Academy of Medicine and the French National Academy of Medicine to address the growing global burden of this clinical condition, which affected 64 million people worldwide in 2018-a number that continues to rise. The event is part of an ongoing series of successful collaborative seminars, following those on hypertension (2023) and hepatology (2024). Four topics were exposed: 1. Relevant Pathophys iological Mechanisms in HF: Current Evidence; 2. Update on the Treatment of HF with Reduced Ejection Fraction; 3. New Advances in the Management of HF with Preserved Ejection Fraction; 4. Vaccination in HF Patients: Is It Really Important? The session concluded with comments and questions from attendees, followed by closing remarks from the presidents of the Chilean and French academies and the session moderators.
